In our last e-mail we told you how we do the coining and cutting operation and now, for the next step on the way to discovering the Franzoia method, we would like to describe the plate milling and CNC rest machining technique.
Our milling department contains three and five-axis numerical control machines enabling us to work with both simple and more complex components and thus guaranteeing the maximum precision and high quality processing.
In our in-house workshop we design and build all the necessary tools for creating the component which can be either plastic or metal. Indeed, we are able to work with all the following materials: nickel silver, bronze, steel, aluminium, titanium, beta-titanium, Monel, Niclafor, brass and acetate, depending on the individual specification.
Starting with the design for the part you need, we draw up a plan for its manufacture, with the utmost care and precision, and before tooling up and producing the prototype, we decide on a strategy, the tool path and the most suitable cutters for the type of processing and material required.
For each process we decide on the best cutter to use, from standard cutters suitable for simpler materials and processes to specialised cutters or those with cladding for more complex materials and products.
