D.F.’s business manifesto is dedicated to the D.F. team and what we enjoy doing most: taking on design challenges and coming up with innovative solutions.
Our business is built on our values. They guide everything we do, every part we produce. So we wanted to share them with you in a manifesto.
This manifesto explains our mission in life: to tackle any design challenge, even if it seems impossible, with the same spirit of innovation.
Our manifesto is an ode to hands. In our business, hands are synonymous with experience and expertise, because it’s our hands that bring ideas to life. Ideas that would otherwise languish in the inventor’s mind, never to see the light of day, and even sharing them would be difficult.
We use our hands to build, to create. Hands that rarely get their moment in the spotlight, but here they are the protagonists.
IN OUR HANDS
It all started with a sketch of a new pair of glasses
on a crumpled piece of paper, ripped out of a diary,
or maybe it was a napkin from a café, with coffee stains on it.
The drawing changed hands over and over again
until it found the right ones, creative hands that knew how to turn it into a real pair of glasses.
Enlightened hands, that welcome new ideas and recognise inspiration when they see it.
Eager hands, that can’t wait to get started
and are rubbed with glee when faced with a difficult challenge.
Stubborn hands, that never give up when the going gets tough.
Imaginative hands, that are used to coming up with new approaches.
Patient hands, that give every part a flawless finish.
Steady hands, that take the helm and show us the way forward.
Expert hands, whose experience gets the job done.
Hands that are shaken to celebrate success.
These are our hands.
